SPOTLIGHT: BOLIVIAN ARCHITECT FREDDY MAMANI

El Alto is a city of almost one million in Bolovia and is one of South America's fastest growing urban areas. The city could be described as a tad depressing. It's notable lack of trees leave the streets dusty and dry.
One would never guess this is the birthplace of "new Andean” architecture.
Freddy Mamani is single handily changing the cities landscape. People have used several words to describe his work, from bold and extravagant to decorative and garish. Whatever your opinion there is no denying that this native Bolivian is very much on his way to leaving a mark on this ever expanding metropolis.
